Usage Method
  • Dilute the bath with deionized water: concentration AL-402 200ml/L
  • Before starting the bath, thoroughly clean the tank. For new tanks or new production lines, use a 10% sulfuric acid solution for cleaning, then rinse with water until clean. Next, add the measured amount of AL-402 and the required deionized water, stir evenly, measure the pH value, and adjust it to 3.9.
  • Temperature: 35 ± 5 °C
  • pH value: 3.9 (3.7 - 3.95)
  • Adjust slowly using a 5% sulfuric acid solution or a 1% sodium hydroxide solution.
  • Time: at 40°C: 1 minute (30-60 seconds) for pre-treatment before coating application
    2 minutes (1-3 minutes) for corrosion resistance treatment. at 30°C : 2 minutes (1-4 minutes) as the pre-treatment for coating application
    4 minutes (2-6 minutes) as the corrosion resistance treatment
  • Filtering: It is necessary to use (at least 2 cycles per hour)
  • Heating: If necessary, the heating equipment must be resistant to acid and fluorine.
  • In the product inventory, some impurities may accumulate, but they do not affect the quality and performance. Before performing the AL-402 passivation process, the surface of the workpiece must be clean and free of oxide scale.
  • Maintenance: Based on the analytical method and the periodic pH measurement, adjust the solution to the optimal concentration and pH value.
  • Consumption: The consumption amount is determined by the amount of removal. For each 1 square meter of product (including the removed portion), 15-25 ml of concentrated solution needs to be added.

Processing Solution Concentration Determination Method
  1. Sample preparation: Take samples in a uniformly mixed state and let them cool naturally to room temperature. If the sample is cloudy, perform decanting or filtration after standing still.
  2. Reagents: 10% sodium hydroxide, 30% hydrogen peroxide, 17% hydrochloric acid, potassium iodide, 0.1N sodium thiosulfate solution, 1% starch solution
  3. Steps: Transfer 100ml of the passivation solution into a 250ml conical flask. Add 20ml of 10% sodium hydroxide solution and 5ml of hydrogen peroxide. Stir for 5 minutes. Add another 5ml of hydrogen peroxide and stir for another 5 minutes at room temperature. Then boil the solution for 30-40 minutes (the solution in the conical flask should not be less than 50ml. If 50ml has been added during boiling, stop heating and cover the conical flask opening with a watch glass during the boiling process). This is to remove the excess hydrogen peroxide. Cool the solution to room temperature. Add 100ml of deionized water to the conical flask. Filter with precision filter paper. Wash the filter with 5ml of deionized water. The filtered solution must be clear without any precipitates. Then add 40ml of 17% hydrochloric acid to the filtrate (the solution color changes from yellow to orange). Add 1g of potassium iodide. Titrate with 0.1N sodium thiosulfate until a pale yellow color is observed. Add a few drops of starch solution. Continue titration until the blue color disappears.
  4. Conversion: The consumed milliliters * 1.613 = Vo1%AL-402
